I went to Galveston Island Tx ... It was an adventure. I skipped the traditional cold Christmas and instead went to the beach.
I got a sun burn :) I did not realize that there was a state park on the island, I had planned to do a variety of activities. Instead.. I spent every day at the park. I took a beachcombing 101class and a Birding 101 Class. The rangers who worked all week were wonderful.
I enjoyed the island. There really is such a thing as island time, I don't know why that surprised me.
I went to the Cajun Greek for lunch one afternoon. It is most definitely a locals hangout. The food was good, well season, the service was wonderful.
